Adhesive Bridge

If there is a tooth missing you may be able to benefit from an adhesive bridge. This type of bridge is fixed in the mouth without the need for much tooth preparation Adhesive bridges can only be used in a few situations.

Bonded Fillings - Front Teeth

Bonded fillings can often be placed with little or no drilling. They are strong and very natural looking. Bonded filling can be used for cracked, broken or stained teeth and also to replace unsightly or discoloured old fillings.

Bridge

A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. The teeth on either side of the gap have crowns(caps) affixed and this holds the bridge in place. With a bridge you can eat and clean as you would with normal teeth. It is not removable but is fixed into place and it looks very natural.

Crowns (caps)

A crown is constructed if a tooth is broken, heavily filled or decayed. Crowns strengthen teeth and can improve the appearance dramatically. If there is a bite problem or if there needs to be a substantial cosmetic improvement, crowns are the ideal solution.

Gold Inlay

A gold inlay is used when a cavity is too large for a filling and the tooth needs to be supported. Gold is very strong and is ideally used for back teeth where it cannot be seen. For teeth nearer the front of the mouth we can use porcelain inlays which look like natural teeth.

Implant

You can replace one tooth, a number of teeth or a whole set with dental implants. They have been tried and tested by science and have a very high success rate. Once in place you eat with them as you would with natural teeth. If you wear dentures you can even have a couple of implants to stabilise the dentures and make eating more comfortable and enjoyable.

Root Canal Treatment

A root canal treatment is necessary when the nerve in a tooth has become inflamed, damaged or infected (dental abscess). The treatment involves cleaning out the root canals and filling them very accurately. This feels little different to a having a filling and contrary to popular belief is not an uncomfortable procedure.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are made from thin films of porcelain which become very strong and life-like when bonded to the teeth. Veneers are used when the teeth are discoloured or misshapen and they can dramatically improve a smile with relatively little tooth preparation, that's why they are often the cosmetic treatment of choice.

Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is used when the teeth are yellow or grey and it will lighten teeth harmlessly. A whole course of tooth whitening has just the same effect on the teeth as drinking one glass of cola, yet the effect is impressive. Lighter teeth are associated with youth, that's why tooth whitening is said to be a 'smile lift' that can take years off your age appearance.
